Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Pediatric occupational therapy is treatment helping children reach developmental milestones that improves children’s daily life related to self-care, play skill, and social interactions. Pediatric occupational therapy improves children’s motor skill, hand strength, eye and hand coordination, visual integration, visual motor skills, fine motor, gross motor, and sensory integration.

Some not all the benefits of pediatric occupational therapy:

  1. improves children’s ability to independently use buttons, snaps, belt buckles, and zippers to dress himself or herself

  2. improves children’s ability to correctly hold and safely cut with scissors

  3. improves children’s ability to correctly hold a pencil

  4. improves children’s handwriting to write legible alphabets and word

  5. improves children’s ability to tolerate sensory information such as loud noises, bright lights, and different textures of clothing or objects
